Five short stories about the animals of Crack WillowWood School. Harvey Stoat has to sit next to Billy Weasel every day, and Billy is one of those irritating youngsters who takes other people's lunches, puts their shoes in the water tub, and sharpens their pencils at both ends. A bit of a bully is Billy, but his classmates usually outwit him, and he is, after all, one of the gang. The stories would make good read-alouds, and there are nice black and white illustrations. Good on acceptance of children who are sometimes ill-mannered and disruptive.
