Tremendously funny and very clever, this picture book has a different approach. The little monkey, Charlie Chatter, has already learned to use his potty, but he is afraid of the big toilet. Set in Noah's Ark, Noah and the other animals are startled one evening when Charlie shouts that he can't find his potty and is desperate. Noah says that it is time for Charlie to learn to use the loo, but Charlie says no. It is then up to the other animals to prove to Charlie how much fun it is - which they do two by two as one would expect in the Ark. They also seem to have ensuite bathrooms as each set of animals has its own! Little by little Charlie is convinced, but when he tries to open the door to his loo, it is stuck. In a funny and very PC episode, Mrs Noah appears, having been doing some plumbing work in Charlie's bathroom, and it is she who has commandeered the potty to put under a leak. Charlie is so convinced by this time that the loo is the place to go, that he gaily throws his potty into the rubbish and sallies forth into the bathroom with 'some very important business to do.' The rhyming text and funky, very colourful pictures will have kids and their parents in stitches of laughter, and should convince the most loo-fearful child that he or she has nothing to be afraid of. Brilliant!
