Emily really likes making lists - lists of things she likes, things she doesn't like, and things that worry her. When dad and mum announce that a baby is on the way, she isn't concerned. But as mum gets bigger, Emily begins to worry. Her answer to the worry is to make lists, one of good things about babies and one of bad things. They are quite comprehensive and have matching pictures too. But her worst worry is that 'it will be baby this and baby that...and baby blah blah blah.' Dad sits her down and tells her about the time before she was born when he and mum did everything together, and that after she came, they still did those things but she came along too. Emily is mollified until mum lets drop 'we will always love you, no matter what the babies do.' The very last page has a startled Emily shouting, 'Babies!' This is great fun and could prove a prelude to an announcement of twins, but it also has lots of information about what life with a new baby is all about. The drawings are full of humour and detail.
