Ellie is not pleased with the idea of a new baby in the family. Little sister Jenny is quite enough, and, besides, the family won't be able to play tennis together anymore and she will have to share a room with Jenny. The problem is resolved when Ellie talks to her parents and they find ways to help Ellie accept. There is then a section on what happens when mum is expecting a baby, and this is followed by a number of stories of children with different problems with the advent of a new family member - worries that mum and baby will be okay, finding the new baby boring, jealousy of the baby, being expected to give way to the toddler, worries that a stepdad won't be loving to the existing child once the new baby comes. In a playlet at the end, two sisters, Bonnie and Grace, talk about their reactions to the new baby in their family. Large print and lots of photos help give the coping strategies clout, and all these children learn that talking through problems is usually the answer.
