The third book in a series about the jolly, irrepressible Robinson family, the first two being 'Dog Friday' and 'Amber Cat'. The whole family might be considered unusual, but it is Sun Dance, the third of four children, who is quite different. Usually cheerful, but easily hurt, he is obsessive and lives in his own world of high imagination. He may be somewhere on the autistic spectrum, but this is not said. Perry and Ant, older twins, and Beany, the youngest, love Sun Dance dearly and accept him completely, as do their parents, but his unusualness can get him into trouble. The Robinsons live in a large semi-detached house in an isolated position on the east coast, and their next door neighbours, Mrs Brogan and her son Robin, share in all the zany adventures. While those adventures are just this side of believable (and sometimes well OTT), the shared love and concern of all is palpable. All three stories are hugely enjoyable, and show the complete integration of an unusual and lovable family member.
