Chloe and Lenny are facing their first day at school. Chloe has new clothes (a uniform), and Lenny (who is black) admits to being excited but 'a bit nervous'. In colour photos, simple sentences and speech bubbles, we see them getting ready, arriving, and then enjoying all their activities with friends. Such reassurances as being shown the toilet and how good the dinners look are noted, and on the last page we see Lenny falling asleep in the car after his busy day. There is a half page of notes for adults about helping children prepare for school.
