This is a clear introduction to autism, including an explanation of spectrum disorders, a chapter on Asperger's syndrome and high-functioning autism, another on the causes (including controversies such as the MMR debate), and yet another on therapies (very detailed, this). The final chapter talks about living with the condition and how family and friends can help. The amount of information is impressive and will be helpful for adults too. An index, a glossary, and a lengthy list of resources will prove particularly useful in schools.
