Wilbur's tusk hurts when he crunches through shellfish - and when he wrestles with his friend Walter - and when he tries to pull himself up on an ice floe. Mum says he must go to the dentist, his friends say so too, but Wilbur is insistent he won't go. It is only when he sees grandpa's broken tusk and learns that grandpa didn't want to go to the dentist either that he decides it might be best. After Miss Tusker, the dentist, has removed the piece of shell that has been hurting him, he convinces grandpa to have his tusk repaired. A great wheeze with lots of fun walrus pictures that should convince the most reluctant dentist-going child.
