Polo is Pete's toy polar bear, and Polo is not at all sure he wants to go to nursery school. Because Polo is a toy, his fears will be acceptable to the timid. After a busy day, doing all the usual activities, Polo is happier about nursery school, and he has also found that there are reasons to be glad he is a white teddy amongst all the brown ones. Children may learn the rudiments of accepting differences in others through Polo's experiences. Cheerful illustrations add much to the story.
