When George gives Bartholomew a kitten, he explains that Ba must be gentle with her because she's only little. Ba in his usual exuberant way scares the kitten who finally runs away. George must explain again that Ba is too rough, and together they look for the kitten. But she is only found when the very sad and chastened Ba goes to his secret hiding place under the bed. George and Bartholomew are bears, but Ba is the epitome of a toddler, and the pictures are tremendously expressive and loveable.
